Paul Baroux

- have written some broadly appealing songs and suites (lyrics & music); much of which would be considered "upbeat."

- compose for others, as well as for self to perform.

- eclectic taste -- not aiming to sound like any one artist, nor trying to fit into any specific genre.

My familial roots, friendships, travels and experiences -- all have naturally had an effect on my songs and music.

As might be expected for a singer-songwriter, my musical influences and tastes are fairly diverse. In terms of Western popular culture, they mainly include 60s & 70s pop/rock, progressive & folk rock. I also have an ear, I believe, for theatrical-sounding pieces, show tunes and movie soundtracks.

Generally speaking, I have also enjoyed the following: classical, baroque, celtic, calypso, reggae, flamenco, fado, jazz, blues, r&b, blue-grass, all kinds of folk music, African, Middle-Eastern and Asian music.

Did I miss any? Of course, I did! Lots!

I love ALL music that touches the heart and elevates the soul. Thus, with my songwriting, that is also what I endeavour and aspire to achieve.

Making the music is only half the battle -- the other is getting it out there and having it heard. To that end, I am happily prepared to partner and collaborate with others. eg. recording engineer; co-producer; keyboardist; other songwriter(s); vocalist(s); potentially, a 5-8-piece band to record and perform original pop/rock material; patron(s) or investor(s).

Anyone with comments or questions? I would love to hear from you. Please email me.

Thank you.
